[월드투데이 김나혜 기자] 기후변화에 대한 대응을 촉구하는 시위가 전 세계적으로 열리고 있다.
Protests calling for a response to climate change are being held around the world.

한 무리의 학생들이 지난 1일(현지 시간) 뉴욕 맨해튼의 UN 본부 밖에서 열린 주간 시위에 참가했다. 이들은  '지구를 구해라', '시스템을 개혁하라'와 같은 문구가 적힌 슬로건과 플래카드를 들었다.
A group of students participated in a weekly protest outside the UN headquarters in Manhattan, New York. They held slogans and placards with phrases such as 'save our planet' and 'uproot the system.'

시위의 주된 내용은 기후를 보호하고 화석연료 등 지구온난화에 기여하는 원인들에 반대하는 것이다. 참가자들은 시위를 통해 그러한 요인들에 대해 더 많은 조치를 요구한다.
The main content of the demonstration is to protect the climate and oppose causes that contribute to global warming, such as fossil fuels. Participants demand more action against such factors through protests.

환경 및 기후 보호를 주장하는 시위는 뉴욕에서뿐만이 아니라 전 세계적으로 빈번하게 열리고 있다. 지난 9월 24일~25일은 세계 기후행동의 날로, 전 세계적으로 그러한 시위가 개최됐다.
Protests advocating environmental and climate protection are frequently held not only in New York but also around the world. September 24-25 was Global Climate Strike, where such protests were held around the world wide.

오스트리아에서는 '죽은 행성에 일자리는 없다'와 같은 플래카드를 든 사람들이 시위를 벌었다. 인도에서도 시위 참가자들이 '글로벌 기후 파업'이라는 슬로건을 들었다. 이들은 기후 보호 법률 제정 등의 조치를 요구했다.
In Austria, people with placards such as "There are no jobs on a dead planet" staged protests. In India, protest participants also held the slogan "Global Climate Strike." They demanded measures such as enacting climate protection laws.

오스트리아와 인도 외에도 해당 기간 동안 전 세계적인 시위가 발생했다. 독일에서는 350개 이상의 도시들이 섭씨 1.5도의 지구 온난화를 막기 위한 조치를 통한 구조적인 변화를 요구하기도 했다.
In addition to Austria and India, global protests took place during the period. In Germany, more than 350 cities have also called for structural changes through measures to prevent global warming of 1.5 degrees Celsius.

한국에서도 세계 기후행동의 날에 기후 변화에 대한 대응을 요구하는 시위가 열렸다. 한 청소년 활동가가 지난 9월 25일 청와대 분수 앞에서 1인 시위를 벌여 주목을 받기도 했다. 시위에서는 탄소 배출량의 과감한 단축을 요구했다.
In Korea, protests were also held on Global Climate Strike calling for a response to climate change. A youth activist drew attention for holding a one-man protest in front of the Blue House fountain on September 25. Demonstrations called for a drastic reduction in carbon emissions.

이처럼, 전 세계적으로 기후 변화에 대한 경각심을 일깨우고 대처를 요구하는 시위가 열린다. 사람들의 적극적인 행동이 기후에 긍정적인 변화를 가져오기를 기대해 본다.
As such, protests are held around the world calling for awareness of climate change and response. We hope that people's active behavior will bring positive changes to the climate.
