[월드투데이 김나혜 기자] 지난 8일(현지 시간) 민간 우주탐사 기업 '스페이스X' 우주비행사 네 명이 우주선 '크루 드래건'을 타고 지구로 귀환했다.
On November 8, four astronauts of the private space exploration company 'SpaceX' returned to Earth on a spacecraft 'Crew Dragon'.

현지 시간으로 지난 8일 오후 2시 국제우주정거장의 도킹이 해제됐다. 이어 밤 10시 30분경 예정대로 플로리다주 앞바다에 착수했다.
The docking of the International Space Station was lifted at 2 p.m. local time on the 8th. The spacecraft then landed on the coast of Florida as scheduled at around 10:30 p.m.

이들은 지난 4월부터 시작된 200일간의 우주정거장 임무를 완수한 뒤 지구로 돌아왔다. 무사히 지구에 도착해 우주선 밖으로 꺼내진 우주비행사들은 엄지를 들어 보였다.
They returned to Earth after completing their 200-day space station mission, which began in April. The astronauts, who arrived safely on Earth and were taken out of the spaceship, raised their thumbs up.

크루 드래건이 지구로 내려오기 위해 궤도 비행을 할 때 화장실이 고장 나 우주비행사들이 불편을 겪기도 했다. 이들은 결국 성인용 기저귀와 유사한 우주용 속옷을 차고 귀환했다.
When Crew Dragon flew down to Earth, the bathroom broke down, causing astronauts to experience inconvenience. They returned wearing space underwear similar to adult diapers.

이번에 복귀한 우주비행사들은 크루 드래건의 두 번째 정규 미션인 '크루-2'를 수행한 것이다. 스페이스X는 지난해 이미 4명의 우주비행사를 국제우주정거장에 보내 첫 번째 임무를 끝마친 바 있다.
The astronauts who returned this time performed Crew Dragon's second regular mission, Crew-2. SpaceX had already completed its first mission last year by sending four astronauts to the International Space Station.

크루 드래건을 이용한 또 다른 미션의 시작도 계획돼 있다. 새로운 우주비행사 4명을 다시 국제우주정거장으로 보낼 예정으로, 이르면 이번 주가 될 것이다.
Another mission using Crew Dragon is also planned. Four new astronauts will be sent back to the International Space Station, which can be this week.

스페이스X 외에도 유인 우주선을 쏘아 올리고자 하는 민간 우주 기업들이 존재한다. 블루오리진, 버진갤럭틱 등 기업은 스페이스X와 함께 민간 우주 산업의 패권을 쥐기 위해 경쟁하고 있다.
