지난달 29일 캐나다 오타와에서 코로나 백신 접종 반대 시위의 지지자들이 '자유의 호송대'(Freedom Convoy)'가 있는 팔러먼트 힐에 도착했다.

스스로를 자유의 호송대로 칭한 수백 명의 트럭 운전사들은 이날 미국 국경을 넘어오는 백신에 반대하기 위해 대형 트럭을 몰고 캐나다 수도 오타와에 집결했다.

캐나다 의회 밖에 주차된 흰색 트럭은 시위대의 서명과 코로나로 인한 일상 통제에 대한 투쟁을 의미하는 휘갈겨쓴 슬로건으로 뒤덮혀있다. 이 트럭은 자신들의 주장이 역사에 기록되길 희망하는 트럭 운전사들과 이들을 지지하는 사람들이 꼭 찾는 명소가 됐다.
