[월드투데이 김나혜 기자] 22일 미국 로스앤젤레스에서 열린 '2021 아메리칸 뮤직 어워즈(American Music Awards, AMA)에 유명 가수들이 대거 참석했다.
A large number of famous singers attended the 2021 American Music Awards (AMA) held in Los Angeles on November 22.

AMA는 1974년부터 시작된 미국의 음악 시상식으로, 상업적으로 가장 성공한 아티스트를 분야별로 선정한다. AMA는 '미국 3대 시상식'으로 꼽히고 전 세계 200개국 이상에서 시청되는 큰 시상식이다.
AMA is an music awards ceremony in the U.S. that began in 1974. It selects the most commercially successful artists by field. AMA is considered one of the top three awards ceremonies in the U.S. and people in more than 200 countries around the world watch it.

AMA 수상 후보는 빌보드 차트에 기반한 음원 스트리밍량, 앨범 및 디지털 음원 판매량, 라디오 방송, 소셜 활동 등 팬들과의 상호작용에 의해 정해진다. 그 뒤 최종 수상자는 팬들의 투표로 결정된다.
The nominees for AMA are determined by key fan interactions reflected on Billboard charts, including streaming, album and digital song sales, radio airplay, and social activity. The final winner is then be decided by fans' votes.

이날 AMA에는 뉴 키즈 온 더 블록, 배드 버니, 디플로 등 여러 유명한 가수들이 참석해 공연을 했다. 또한, 래퍼인 카디 비가 이번 AMA의 호스트를 맡았다. 
At the AMA, several famous singers, including New Kids on the Block, Bad Bunny, and Diplo, attended and performed. Rapper Cardibee hosted AMA.

신인상인 '뉴 아티스트 오브 더 이어'는 올리비아 로드리고에게 돌아갔고, '콜라보레이션 오브 더 이어'는 도자 캣과 SZA의 'Kiss Me More'가 수상했다.
Olivia Rodrigo won 'New Artist of the Year' and Doja Cat ft. SZA's "Kiss me more" won 'Collaboration of the Year'.

대상인 '아티스트 오브 더 이어'는 BTS(방탄소년단)가 차지했다. 이 밖에도 음원 상, 뮤직비디오 상 등 여러 상들이 이날 AMA에서 가수들에게 시상됐다.
BTS won 'Artist of the Year'. Also, several awards, including the Song Award and the Music Video Award, were presented to some singers at the AMA.

한국 그룹인 BTS는 AMA에 참석해 콜드플레이와 합동 공연을 하기도 했다. BTS는 이날 시상식에서 대상인 '아티스트 오브 더 이어' 외에도 총 3관왕을 차지하는 쾌거를 이뤘다.
The Korean group BTS attended the AMA and performed in collaboration with Coldplay. In addition to the grand prize "Artist of the Year", BTS won a total of three awards.
