[월드투데이 김나혜 기자] 전 세계 국가 및 지방정부가 낙태의 합법 여부를 서로 다르게 판단하고 있는 가운데, 각 지역의 결정에 대해 사람들이 각자의 의견을 표출하고 있다.
While countries and local governments around the world judge differently on legality of abortion, people are expressing their opinions on decisions in each region.

지난 22일(현지 시간) 폴란드에서는 지난 2020년 낙태금지법 통과의 1주년을 맞아 '여성 파업'이라는 이름의 시위가 열렸다. 참가자들은 낙태할 권리를 복구해야 함을 주장했다.
On October 22, 'Women's Strike' demonstration was held in Poland to mark the first anniversary of the passage of the 2020 abortion ban. Participants insisted that the right to abortion should be restored.

지난해 통과된 낙태금지법으로 인해 폴란드에서는 대부분의 경우 낙태가 불가능해졌다. 심지어 태아가 기형아로 판명 난 경우에도 무조건 출산해야 한다.
The abortion ban passed last year has made abortion impossible in most cases in Poland. Even if the fetus is found to be deformed, it must be born unconditionally.

폴란드 시위대는 이렇게 엄격한 낙태금지법이 여성 인권에 대한 침해라고 반발한다. 시위 중 관련된 청원에 서명을 받는 활동을 벌이기도 했다.
Polish protesters protest that such a strict abortion ban is an infringement of women's rights. During the demonstration, they also engaged in activities to obtain signatures for related petitions.

낙태금지법에 대한 항의는 지난 9월 미국 텍사스주의 결정에 대해서도 매우 거세다. 텍사스주는 근친상간, 강간에 의한 임신의 경우까지 낙태를 금지하는 사실상 전면 금지의 법률을 통과시킨 바 있다.
Protests against the anti-abortion law are also very strong against Texas' decision in September. Texas has passed a law which practically fully ban abortion, even in the case of incest and rape pregnancy.

일부 텍사스주 주민들은 이러한 결정에 반발하고 있으며, 지난 10월 초에도 몇몇 사람들이 법원 앞에서 낙태 금지에 항의하는 시위를 펼쳤다.
Some Texas residents are protesting the decision, and in early October, several people protested in front of the court against the abortion ban.

낙태금지법에 대해 비판의 목소리를 내는 사람들은 여성 인권을 가장 큰 이유로 든다. 자신의 몸에 대해 스스로 선택할 수 있어야 한다는 것이다. 폴란드와 텍사스주 외에도 슬로바키아, 엘살바도르 등 낙태를 불법으로 규정한 많은 국가의 사람들이 반대 의견을 표출한다.
Those who voice criticism of the anti-abortion law cite women's human rights as the biggest reason. They insist that women should be able to make their own choices about their body. In addition to Poland and Texas, many countries that have illegalized abortion, including Slovakia and El Salvador, express opposition.

반면 낙태 합법화를 결정한 국가에서 이에 반발하는 사람들도 있다. 멕시코 대법원은 지난 9월 낙태에 대한 처벌이 위헌이라는 판결을 내렸다. 낙태를 합법화한 것이다.
On the other hand, some people oppose the decision to legalize abortion. Mexico's Supreme Court ruled in September that the punishment for abortion was unconstitutional. Accordingly, abortion is legalized in Mexico.

일부 멕시코인 및 종교단체들은 태아의 생명권, 종교적 이유 등을 근거로 들어 낙태에 반대하는 목소리를 냈다. 지난 3일 '여성과 생명을 위하여'라는 전국적 시위행진을 벌이기도 했다.
Some Mexicans and religious groups voiced opposition to abortion based on the right to life and religious reasons. On October 3, a nationwide protest march called 'For Women and Life' was held.

이처럼 전 세계적으로 낙태 행위에 대한 판단은 상이하며, 각 지역 내 주민들과도 결정에 대한 의견차가 좁혀지지 않고 있다. 현 상황의 의견 불합치가 앞으로 어떻게 전개될지 주시할 필요가 있겠다.
As such, judgments on abortion are different around the world, and differences in opinions on decisions have not narrowed with residents in each region. It is necessary to keep an eye on how the disagreement between the current situation will be unfolded.
